Golden's POV

Am I seeing this for real? The people in front of us have different builts, but all of them have the face of Aluncina. Majority of them are wearing hospital clothes. Some looked like medical stuffs. Most of them looked like patients.

"What the hell happened to them?" Josh blurted. He couldn't hide the surprise in his voice.

They're standing in front of us and are marching in a continues manner like as if someone is controlling them. Their eyes looked dead and idle. Josh is right. What the hell happened to this people?

"We will kill you."

All the hair in body rose from what they said. They said that in chorus. Like soldiers.

"I think they were cursed," Josh mumbled. I diverted my gaze to him. His eyes are fixed to the people in front of us. I sensed the certainty in his voice, but Damon's statement made me think otherwise.

"No, this is not a curse. It's less serious than a curse, but more dangerous than a spell." He scanned the unconscious people before us. "I think they've been hypnotized." His jaw clenched.

I gasped. This is bad.

Hypnotism is the most weakest wreak a Wizardus can do. It has the ability to control people like puppets. Effectivity can last for days, and if not treated, expect the worst.

This only means that a Wizardus is present in this place.

"I'm sorry, but is Aluncina a Wizardus?" Josh asked. I frowned at him. He pretended to zip his mouth and look away. Is he still doubting the woman who saved my life? She is a Chosen and I can prove that.

"What do we do? They keep repeating that they will kill us," he asked again. I landed my eyes on the people his referring to. They're the people of this hospital. I can even see the receptionist from here. She's still wearing her pink blazer.

"We can wake them up."

My brows arched. I glanced at Damon. His eyes are in a thin line and is staring intently at them. He's observing them. I remember him taking additional classes with Diante before.

It must be the secret answers to repulse a spell.

"I need their hairs," he said in a serious voice. My brows furrowed. Hair?

"What are you thinking, man? We can't do hair salon in this times." Josh clicked his tongue. What does he need the hair for? Is he going to practice... No way.

"I know how to bring them to sanctuary. I can practice Vekra," he replied. My eyes widened.

Vekra is a middle salvation ceremony practiced by new Wizardus. I don't know how Diante managed to sneaked that knowledge to us, but I ended up not understanding a think. It was all Damon.

Diante says that it's because Dragons and witches used to bond.

"Give me their hairs before they hear the culprit's final order," he said to Josh.

"Got it!" He took a small knife from his vest and run to the possessed patients and medical stuffs. Damon turned to look at me.

"Can you get me a bowl of water?" he asked. I nodded my head, and went back inside the building. I grabbed the nearest bowl I found on the counter, and get water in the dispenser.

I have an idea on what he's about to do, but I'm worried that we will not have enough time to save them all.

"Here!" I said, and handed him the bowl.

Damon put the bowl on the ground. He made sure to reflect the light of the moon on the water. I lifted my head when I heard Josh's footsteps running to us. He has a lot of hair in his shirt that he had taken off.

"Here."

He handed the shirt to my parsen. Damon nodded his head shortly and continue to mix the strands of hair in the bowl. My lips parted when he closed his eyes. He's going to start.

"Nol tem geui vekra. Reflecion vui contra."

Josh and I looked at each other. Both of us have no idea what the hell is he talking about. He pursed his lips and nodded.

I looked at Damon when he finally open his eyes. He lifted his head to look at Josh.

"Make them look to their own reflection through this bowl," he said. Josh lifted the bowl from the ground. "Each of them must receive a Vekra Tonus from you."

"Does it have to be me?" Josh asked. Damon released a deep sigh.

"You took their hairs, remember? Only you can do that."

He pouuted his lips, and went to the marching people before us.

"We will kill you!"

"We will kill you!"

"We will kill you!"

Everyone is screaming that and I can't help, but feel horrified about it. This is wicked. The thought of them controlling humans like this is bothering me. Vortans literally have the power to invade Earth, and they're just holding back.

Isn't it just fair for mortals like them?

I do not have a power, and I honestly think of myself as a human still because of my lacking gift. It has been months already, but I still have no idea of my powers.

Am I born giftless?

"It's working," Damon mumbled beside me. I snapped out of my thoughts, and look at where Josh is currently using the vekra.

I watched him alligned the bowl on a female patient's face. The woman stare at her reflection. Josh didn't waste the opportunity to close his eyes, and the chant the salvation spell.

"Vekra Tonus."

My pupils dilated when the woman suddenly passed out. Josh caught her before she dropped on the ground. Her original face went back too.

He did the same to others, and they all went back to their senses one by one. I lifted my head when Damon suddenly intertwined our hands. I looked directly in his eyes, and it's telling me that he's tired already.

"We're running out of time," he said in a low voice.

My heart clenched.

We still need to find Aluncina. Where could she be? The officer told us that she'd be here, but the slence of the building welcomed us. Is it possible that he's the one who made the patients and medical staffs possessed?

He looked like someone who's capable of doing such.

I don't know if it's just me, but I found his actions and expressions weird. He couldn't answer directly. If it weren't for Damon, we wouldn't know where they brought Aluncina.

She must be one of the patients in front.

We'll know once all of them regain their consciousness, and got their original faces back. The only thing bothering me now is...

Who cause this turmoil?

"They're all awaken!" Josh yells. I looked at him and to the patients passed out on the ground. Some are just staring in nowhere. Some are crying.

"Do you see the real owner of the face?" I asked. He looked around and shook his head. I bite my lower lip in frustration.

Where the hell is she?

"This is bad. It's almost midnight," Damon mumbled. I looked at him and to the saved humans in front of us.

This can't be. We have to find her no matter what.
