Chapter 80

Damon didn't stop being a pushy and literally ask for it the entire night. I didn't know he had that weird side of him. He's asking for that in spite of our really awkward situation. But when I was about to give up and give it to him, the turned around and pretended to sleep.
What the hell, right?
"Are you kidding me?" I blurted. He didn't answer, making my blood boil worse. He's such a scumbag.

I woke up to the sound of breaking furniture and appliances. My eyes were still half closed when I got out of the room and check. Look at him.
I smirked.
"You cook now, huh?" I scoffed. Damon looks at me with an astounded expression. He looked like he wasn't expecting me to wake up with all these kitchen tools he's destroying. "That's not how you use a mixer." I rolled my eyes. He's holding it like a drill, and it's making a terrible sound.
" I'm just trying to be an ideal man for you," he replied.
"Oh hell yeah, you are, big guy."
I walked to him and snatched the electric mixer on his hands. The open recipe book caught my eyes. He's actually following a book in this state.
"So, mind telling me why you've been such a dick last night?" I slurred. He laughed sexily and sat on the bar stool to watch me. According to the book he's trying to follow, he's trying to make some pancakes. That's easy.
"You asked for it and when I'm about to give you that you decided to sleep." There's a hint of bitterness in my voice, which is obviously because he made me feel like I'm the one who wanted it so bad.
"I'm sorry if I made you feel that way," He heaves a sigh. "But I was just trying to check something." He sounded serious. I lifted my head to look at him as I mix the dry ingredients with the wet ones.
"Check what?" I asked.
"Josh was still here."
I stopped in an instant. I looked at him with big round eyes. He was?
"Wolves have sensitive hearing, and I was trying to make him feel awkward. I don't know if you heard it, but he growled and jumped off the window."
"What? And you just let him? We only have till today. Finding him will take so much time," I replied. There's a hint of irritation in my voice because I am. He should have told me that Josh was there. I could have talked to him.
"He'll come back," he assured. I gave him a frown.
"How can you be so sure? We don't know what's going on his mind." I rolled my eyes in annoyance. I'm done mixing this thing. Furthermore, I walked to the other side of the kitchen to get the pan. "Why did you even do that in the first place?" I asked. He blew a deep sigh.
"I think he's trying to tell us something and I wanted to be sure," he replied. A line formed in between my brows. I put the pan on the stove and heat it.
"You should have asked him yourself. That's how you get answers."
"Not all the time, baby. He's still dangerous, and I'm sort of thinking if he wanted to help us."
My face crumpled.
"Help?" I said sarcastically.
"Yes."
I chuckled sarcastically and stare at him. I remember him telling me the other day that I should distance myself from Josh, and now he's telling me that Josh wants to help us. Is he a novel writer or something?
"I'm waiting for an explanation," I told him, and went back to my cooking. I put a scoop of the mix on the pan and waited. Like how I wait for Damon to prove his actions. I hope he didn't do that because I told him that I know where we can find Alumina.
We can't waste time by making complicated beliefs and conspiracy theories.
We could have caught him already if he just told me sooner that he has seen Josh inside last night. He didn't have to verify whatever it is that he wants to verify by letting him go. We could have just asked him ourselves.
My ears twitched when I heard the door open and close. I glanced at Damon.
"That's the explanation," he said in a low voice.
What?
I landed my eyes on the guy who opened the door. He's still wearing his nerdy glasses and striped clothes. He has a huge smirk plastered on his face, and I can't help it but part my lips. What the hell is he doing in here?
"I didn't know dragon's have sixth sense too," he commented and sat beside Damon. I looked at him confusedly. Why does he look so calm about entering this house? "Oh, you're cooking pancakes? Dogs have a sweet tooth." He licked his lower lip and winked at me.
No offense, but EW.
"No winking, please," Damon scolded. I landed my eyes on my extremely calm Larsen. What the hell is happening? Why are they acting like they know each other? That guy is hitting on me, and he's not saying a thing about it. "I told you. He keeps on coming back." He glanced at me.
Okay?
"Then why do you keep on coming back? What do you want from us?" I asked while looking directly on his eyes. I want to wipe that freaking smirk on his face so bad. He doesn't have to do anything to annoy me. His presence is enough.
"Oh. Aren't you too direct?" he joked. He tries to grab a pancake I just finished cooking, but I hit his hand with a spatula. "Aw!" he overreacted.
"Tell me. Why did you follow us? Why did you insist on following us here on the human world? Why do you keep on coming back?"
"Easy sexy. You asked more questions than my math teacher."
I raised my spatula and crossed my arms.
"I'm waiting."
He looked at Damon before opening his mouth to speak.
"You see, I'm from a different race. I know that both of you don't trust me because of that, but believe me. I want peace." His arrogant face softens. He sounded serious and genuine. I want to believe him. "Wars have happened in my kingdom. They're trying to make a bigger army with Wizarnia Kingdom to destroy you guys, but man. I might be arrogant and annoying, but I want no war."
He sighed.
"When I heard that you went on a journey to find God Gaviel's lost bludgeon. I gave my all to follow you two. I gave Fiscio the clue."
My eyes widened. I wasn't expecting him to say that. His confession blows my mind.
"You don't have to believe me. I'm used of people not believing in me. I just want to help you in your journey here. Just let me know if you need a dog?" He chuckled.
My eyes were twitching when I diverted my attention to Damon. He has a blank expression on his face, but I know that he appreciates his effort. It's sad to know that those ho wants to help are block by this invisible walls because of the war that the two kingdoms created.
Now, I believe that not all Vortans are happy by their Gods and Goddesses' decisions. Not all of us want war. I don't even think anyone wanted this. We just ended up being in this jar where everything have been decided already and the only thing we can do now is to make better decisions for ourselves.
"I really don't like this cheesy lines, but it's kind of cool to listen, huh?"
I smiled. It's nice to hear it from him. He has the balls to keep his stand. I respect him.
"You should have told us sooner," I commented. He chuckled.
"But you know what?" he said. I arched my brows to ask him what. He looked at the stove. "I think those are burning."
Oh, no! I almost forgot about that. I immediately turned off the heat. The next thing I heard was the boys laughing their asses out.
