"So who's this girl you're talking about?" Damon asked in a serious tone. I played my hands.
We're back to our room. He managed to make Gabby and Elaine leave despite of their eagerness to know what's going on. I wanted to feed their curiosity but Damon hold me back.
"Remember when I went to the powder room alone? I overheard someone speaking. She was saying about taking the wrong item and that she'll get caught. I couldn't hear the caller but their conversation is still suspicious," I told him, trying to bring him on the same page. He sighs deeply and that's a sigh of disapproval to me.
"You don't think so?"
He looked at me with tired eyes. His long fingers threaded his blonde hair.
Okay? He's that frustrated...
"Baby, you didn't even hear the caller. Did you seen her face? Are you certain that she has something to do with the Gods' missing bludgeons? Are you sure that she's the culprit?" he scolded.
"That's why we needed their help! Who knows if they have the power to track someone just by-" He cut me off.
"Just by what? Just by saying that you've overheard her conversation with someone you're not even sure of?"
I looked away. I hate that he's right.
"Do you even realize how bad would it have been for that girl if you told about her. Aside from the fact that you do not have a proof nor an evidence to support your claims, the Gods aren't that easy to convince," he says, voice is much softer now. He's trying so hard to not release any offending words that could hurt me.
Why do I have to be this impulsive.
"Help me find an evidence then. I know for sure that she has something to do with the missing bludgeons. I know now why they're talking it. We'll run out of time if we just wait here. Baby we are the reason." His forehead creased from what I've just said. He looks very confused.
"They want to awaken the serpent. Remember what Hlaford told us?" A hint of sadness swiftly crossed my eyes. "My parents petrified the serpent with their crystals. They died for it. The serpent is not dead. It's sleeping and the only way to awake it is by extracting memories from a bludgeon that can store memories."
There's a storm of emotions going on in his eyes.
"At first, the menace thought that what they needed was Hlaford's bludgeon. But it sees the future and not the past. And so they used it to distract the attention of everyone by bringing it back broken and destroyed. They took God Gaviel's bludgeon. It can see the past. It can store our memories whether we like it or not. It stored the memories of the serpent and once the serpent have its memories back, it will come back to life."
His jaw clenched.
"The Wizardus' put that serpent to life for us. To kill us. Because we will restore the peace and unity in Vortaxia. They want that to stop from happening," I finished. I really hope he got what I'm trying to say here. We can't just it here and wait while the menace is finding out how to break Gaviel's bludgeon.
According to Diante, no one can break the powerful stone on top of the sacred bludgeons. They can break the body but not the head. And I believe that what they need is the stone. We still have time.
I looked at Damon when he starts to walk towards me. He sat beside me and snaked his arms on my waist.
"How did you know all that?"
I pursed my lips. Yeah... How did I know all that? Aside from the fact that I received information from different sources, how did I managed to come up with such conclusion?
"I don't know but as you may know, I'm still not sure yet."
He put his face on my neck and sniffs. "Maybe that's your gift?" He chuckled. I rolled my eyes.
"Shut up."
He sexily laughs and bite my ear. How can he act all flirty when I just told him about my hyphothesis that they're coming to kill the two of us.
"I have something to tell you," he whispers. I arched my brows and looked at him. His face is still on my neck breathing and sniffing like a puppy.
"What?"
"The girl you're talking about..." he says. My brows raised higher.
"What about her?" I asked.
"I saw her coming out of the powder room. Baby, I saw her face."
A line formed in between my brows. "Wait what? You weren't there. How would you know?"
Unless... My eyes grew big.
"You followed me?!" I yelled hysterically.
"Y-Yeah," he said sheepishly and buried his face on my neck more.
Gawd. He really can't leave me alone for a second, huh?
"The thing is... Her face is quite familiar. I think we've seen her before. Somewhere."
"Really?"
"Yeah. The moment I saw her coming out of the powder room, she noticed me right away. I was hiding discreetly but the first spot she looked upon to is my location. Like as if she knew I was there. Then she smirked."
Smirked? The nerve of that girl. I wanted to tell him that she hould have burned her with his fire but I stopped myself.
"She is indeed suspicious then?" I asked.
"Yeah."

The next day. Classes are still suspended. I was bored so I convinced Damon to call Elaine and Gabby. He was hesitant at first because he's worried that I might tell them about what we talked about last night but I assured him that that conversation of ours will be just between the two of us.
"So what happened?" Elaine asked. Eyes are twinkling in so much curiosity but I shook my head.
"Nothing. Don't mind what happened last night. It's just me being extra and stuff," I said and laughed but she just pouted and crossed her arms.
"Tch! You keep secrets now, huh?" she huffs. I just laughed and looked at Damon and Gabby. They're having their own little men talk in the corner.
"Have you two done it already?"
I looked at her puzzled. "Done what?" I asked.
She smiled mischievously. "You know... The sexy thing?" she laughs. My face heated.
"Oh stop!" I looked away to cover the redness of my face but she just laugh.
"Oh come on, Golden! Tell me about it. Is he a good fuck? Dragons are sure different, ey?" My face heated worse because of the words she's using.
Bless this girl.
