"So? Ahmm about the... Uhmm you know th-" He chuckles and gave me a quick kiss on the forehead. I froze in place. I wasn't expecting him to do that. What the...
I was caught off guard when he suddenly pull me to an embrace. His dominant scent lingered in my nose as he squeeze me tighter and tighter. I can't breathe!
"I missed you. I'm glad I found you already," he whispers into my ears. I stopped myself from giggling because his breaths is tickling my sensitive ear.
My back arches when he started planting several kisses on my neck.
"H-Hey! I don't think it's okay for you to hug me like this," I strangled but he didn't even budge. I looked around and noticed a few people staring at us. "Especially on public." I added. I heard his sexy laugh again.
When he finally let go of me, I stand a few inches away from him and covered myself with my thin arms.
Can I call that harassment? I mean I like it... I mean! No! I do not like it.
I mean... Fine, I do. I like his scent, his embrace, his laughs, his everything. Gosh! I'm getting weirder and weirder.
My face heated when he suddenly laughs again. "You look cute," he mumbles and crossed his arms while looking at me. He seems to be enjoying me, battling with myself.
I cleared my voice and stand straight.
This is so embarrassing.
"That's your punishment for entertaining your workmate." My lips parted. Punishment? And is he referring to Travis?
"You mean Travis? He's more than just a workmate to me. He does not only help me with my job but he also walks me home, buys me dinner and hel-" I bit my lip when I saw how frantic his face is. Jealousy is visible all over his handsome face.
"You better shut that mouth before I shut it with mine."
Oh...
-
We're silently walking my way home and I couldn't help but feel awkward. Shouldn't we be talking about the invitation?
I cleared my voice hoping that he'll realize that I'm almost home and all we did is just walk and enjoy the silence of the night.
"So you received that invitation too." I finally broke the silence.
He nodded and I was expecting him to say more but he didn't. He's not the talkative type isn't he?
I bit my lip in frustration. Now I know what it feels like to talk to myself. He gives short replies like me. A nod for a yes and a shake of a head for a no. A common response from a not so talkative person like me.
"How did you end up being stuck in here?" He finally asked a question, I looked at him with my confused expression. What does he mean by that?
"Oh! You mean my job? I had no other choice. Nobody gives a handsome offer in here except for Helen," I answered, hoping that I will satisfy his curiosity but he shakes his head.
Did I say something wrong?
"I mean, how did you end up being stuck in the human world?" he asked again. But this time it crumpled my face. Did he just call Earth the human world?
He's really taking that Vortaxia thingy of him in a different level.
He was waiting for my response and so I forced a smile. How do I answer his question?
"You've never been on Vortaxia?" he asked again. His face is so serious that I couldn't help it but believe him.
I carefully nodded. "But you know that you're supposed to be there when you turned twenty?" I confusedly shook my head and his eyebrows furrowed making me more puzzled. What so weird about that?
"Do you even have any idea who you are?"
Well... I'm Golden Young. An orphan who lives in a shared apartment with a liberated girl in her twenties?
"N-No. I don't," is what I chose to answer. His lips parted and I could see the amazement in his green emerald eyes. He looks handsome. Have I told you that already?
"Now it makes sense," he muttered.
"Who am I?" I asked him. He gave me a small smile. The cold wind blew up his white hair and I shivered when the wind flicked my skin.
"You're a Vortan, Golden," he says. My brows raised unconsciously. Okay?
A Vortan? I think that's what they call people who live in Vortaxia? So if I'm a Vortan, why am I here? I mean, aren't I supposed to be in there?
Wait.
Why am I even believing him. I can't believe I'm falling to this trick. "There is no need to make fun of me, Damon. It's not like I'll fall for your prank," I told him bluntly. His expression remained blank and I couldn't tell if he's amuse or hurt of what I've said. But what I'm sure of is, he's obviously making up stories.
Vortans do not exist.
"Weren't you thinking all day about how peculiar I am?" His question was more of like a statement. I nodded genuinely. He stopped walking and I stopped too.
I was indeed thinking about it all day. His unique albinism. The smoke that came out of his nostrils. His very strange body temperature. I don't even think a person could reach that temperature.
Why is he peculiar?
"Because I'm not from here," he answers the question in my head. He faced me and my eyes met his. "We're not from here. We have our own World, Golden," he muttered. I scowled because of what he said.
We're not from here?
What are we? Aliens?
"It's November 10," he mumbled. "Make up your mind and I'll wait for you outside your house tomorrow." He smiles.
"Go inside," he told me softly. I was going to ask him what's the date for but I realized that we're already in front of my house. How did he know that I live here?
I turned around to asked him again but he disappeared already. I scanned the whole street and there's no trace of him. "How did he leave so fast," I whispered to myself, amazed by the fact that he leaves in just a matter of seconds.
I shrugged my thoughts away and went inside. I was greeted by Tanya and her new boyfriend in the living room. It's an emo guy now. The guy waved his hand at me and I did the same to him. "Who was that blonde guy?" she asked.
I wasn't really expecting her to ask who I came home with tonight. I mean she doesn't really ask me those kind of stuffs and we kind of mind our own businesses. I think she noticed my surprised expression and so she decided to tell me the truth.
"Travis asked me to inform him about what you're up to tonight," she says. I bit my lip unconsciously. He must be worried. He always ask Tanya to look for me when he's not around. It isn't really necessary.
"He didn't want you to know that but I just sort of remembered when I've told you already," she suppressed her laugh when her boyfriend tickled her. I rolled my eyes jokingly and answered her.
"Don't tell him anything. I'll talk to him tomorrow," I said and entered my room. I took a quick shower and hop on the bed.
