As she laid there feeling Walter's presence and hearing him Walter, her heart broke, she had never felt so much pain, not even when Night Cross forced her to sell her conscience over and over. The beeping machine filled the silence in the room and neither of them spoke, he had the most solemn look on his face and looked like he was about to burst into tears when he reached over to pull a strand of hair from her face.

"I'm so sorry Martha, I am sorry I pit so much pressure on you which I would never do again, I'm so sorry that our relationship has to come to this". As he spoke, tears poured down her eyes and she thought in her heart, maybe he does understand me, the saddened she felt was like a demon swallowing her heart from the very inside, the only thing that made this life worth leaving was walking away from her. She felt so bad, so horrible that she felt like clawing out her own heart. Maybe it would take away the pain. She heard him whisper after apologizing

"I am sorry Martha, I need to leave now, I wish you the very best". She felt like pinching herself so she could wake up from this nightmare she found herself in. he stood up to leave, walking slowly towards the door he turned back to look at the woman he gave his heart to laying so peaceful, looking like so vulnerable, before he would do something, he would regret he walked out.

Mary felt the darkness take over her, she tried to fight but the void swallowed her and in it, there was a presence that was more than the darkness, and the voice she had been waiting to hear called out. ‘Where are you going Mary, we are just getting started" Night cross, he was there in her every sorrow and pain. Anger filled every atom of her and she stood there looking at the creature that ruined her life.

Jolting up from her sleep, she realized it was noise and people's voices downstairs that woke her up. The voices wafted up to her and she realized Philip was the center of the attention.

Grabbing a shawl and walking downstairs she saw workers trying to control Philip and hold him. She saw him stagger and knew he was drunk on alcohol. Seeing him so vulnerable and without his usual control made her feel a pang of guilt but quickly she pushed it back, she was not the one that asked to fall in love with his step-sister. As she tuned her back to leave, his words stopped her in her tracks. "I'm so tired" he muttered, "so, so tired".

Turning to face the commotion, she saw the workers still trying to control him. Taking a deep breath, she said "try to take him to his room and leave him there, I will handle things from there". The workers seemed unsure and looked at each other before replying "are you sure madam, in his state it is not guaranteed what he can do". She looked at them and said sternly "do not worry about that, just take him to the room, take off his shoes and I will handle it from there". The workers seeing no choice than to obey, did as she said, as they left the room after laying him down, Martha, hugged her shawl to her body looking at the figure laying down on his bed, so pathetic, so feeble she murmured.
