Mary felt choked up, she thought about how her death was glaring her in her face. She immediately felt herself being pulled out and suddenly she was brought back to reality, it was all a dream but it felt so real that she couldn't believe it. Just when she thought she had found happiness, the devil had to come right at the moment to strike. She thought to herself what would she do? She felt so confused. Soon tears began to fall from her eyes as she realized that she had forgotten this was a borrowed life and there was no happiness for her.

Just as tears dropped down her cheeks, she noticed a letter by the corner of the table from Walter, sniffing from her tears she picked it up to read its content

I have a surprise for you this evening, meet me at the spot I showed you yesterday

Xoxo

She couldn't help but cry even more, her world was going to come crushing down soon. Mary was tempted to sleep without going but she had to end it with Walters for the sake of his life. She dressed up reluctantly packing her hair up in a messy bun as she went with resolve.

Walters had asked her to come with a white dress but she came with a red dress adamantly. Because there was nothing happy about the night. Going down stairs she ignored the feeling of the heartbreak coming along because she knew this was a necessity. Soon a driver came to pick her up and took her to one of the most beautiful restaurants at that part of town. Only people of high standing got to get into the restaurant it sure was meant for royalty. As she entered the restaurant, there was Walter, smiling, he sat at a beautifully set table that looked so elegant. She knew he had planned this for a long time and she didn't like how things were going. As she walked towards him he stood up and gave her a hug which she coldly returned.

He looked at her his eyes full of concern as he said "I didn't expect to see you dressed in red rather than white but all the same you look stunning"

Mary smiled a little "well thank you I thought I could you know make a statement" Mary took her time to take another glance at the restaurant as she thought to herself it was sure beautiful. The restaurant not only gave the feeling of royalty but it had a natural feel to it because of the flowers surrounding it and the choice of color. Whoever the interior designer was he or she did a fine job in combining both themes to create splendor. Looking at each corner she could see couples enjoying themselves and laughing out loud, with the way they were dressed, you could tell they were no ordinary people. Mary wished she could have what they had, an everyday life.

The food was elegant and appetizing as the best chefs in town prepared it, she also loved was the wine it was of great quality, the table they also sat on was well decorated like they had taken their time on that table alone.  A little touch on her hand brought her thought back facing Walter. She smiled a little as he kept smiling and pouring out his heart to her. He made sure he made his heart known, which was a nice thing, but she would break up with him.

The cake came and he did not help her to cut it instead he had let her cut for some reason and she didn't read much meaning to it. As she put a piece in her plate she saw the satisfaction on his face. What is up with him this night?

She said to herself as she soon realized what was happening when she saw the glittering object in the cake, immediately a tear got stuck in her throat, just before she could say anything he smiled with enthusiasm, took the ring and getting on one knee

" Martha Bernard will you do me the honour of being my wife? Please Marry me" everyone's eye were on them in the restaurants hoping that she would say a yes to his proposal but she knows that she had just met with the devil and she knew what was up, she felt her world stop as she began to feel her own heartbeat grow harder, this was not what she bargained for as she looked at his expectant face and smile, if only he knew what was coming.

She did not know what to say or what to do, for once her tongue was tied. She began to stammer as she forced words out of her mouth,

"I am..am so… sorry Walter I am…. So…sorry babe I don't think I can do this"

"what do you mean Martha?"

"I am sorry" he got up out of shock and everyone looked at her with disappointed faces and murmuring why she would do such.

"Why? What is the problem" he asked her. She knew he would keep bothering her but she did not know what to tell him or the reason to give him. In a few minutes, an answer came as she saw someone she knew while she looked to the side.

She rather he face heartbreak than face death "because I am already engaged to him" she gave a glance towards him, immediately he sees in her eye that she wanted corporation and help from him. He got up and walked toward them "yes we are engaged already and I came here for my fiancé, I didn't know when your relationship with her got to this level but sorry I am to get married to Martha Bernard"

the man extended his hand towards Walter as a smile creped to his handsome face. "And the name is Ben"
