"Someone also said that she might have ordered cheap drinks, no wonder there was so much to drink." They all laughed. Martha was so quiet smiling at the gossips she heard from the maids clustered at the corner of the kitchen. She never believed that something as petty as that would give her so much fulfillment. She gave a sigh of relief "this day is going to be a good day" she said smiling to herself. She took a taste of the pie and it tasted more delicious. It had always been an unarguable fact that the head cook's meals were delicious but today's meal tasted exquisite. And only Martha Knew why.
Suddenly they heard a clash of pans and a shrill voice shouting in annoyance. "How dare you ordinary servants laugh at us" It was Amelia's voice. "Are you stupid!?" With sudden anger she rushed towards the pan lifted it up and slapped one of the maids on her cheek and then slapped her on the other, she was about to use a hot pan to hit the other when Martha rushed towards her and held her hand in place to prevent the hot pan from landing on the maid's face, she knew the heat from the hot pan would leave a scar for life.
"How is this your business? Step aside "Amelia shouted with rage in her eyes, but Martha refused to let go "you witch, leave my hands this instance, one… two" she counted
But Martha kept holding on to her hand with the hot pan. "Oh, you do not want to leave the pan? You take it instead" she lifted the spoon with her free hand and aimed towards Mary. As Martha prepared for the contact on her skin, Philip came in and held his sister's hands' shouting "calm down Amelia because your party went wrong doesn't mean you should take out your anger on the servant's".
with rage, she turned to face her brother "What are you talking about, they were laughing at us" Amelia screamed. Philip looked frustrated but responded, "the heat from that can scar someone for life"
"I don't care they are not compared to the ground we stand on; they are with nothing, I don't care what scar is left on their faces for a life time" Amelia shouted while crying.
In a voice she Martha had never heard Philip speak in before he yelled "you need to calm down Amelia and go to your room!" Amelia replied him with folded hands like a spoilt little girl "You can't tell me what to do I am not a kid". This time, the look on his face showed he was losing his patience "for goodness sake Amelia go to your room I am coming" one of the maids held out their hand to assist her but she gave her a stern glare shouting "don't touch me" She walked around looked at Martha with eyes filled with hatred "you! I will have your time" she stormed out of the kitchen racing up the stairs with loud thuds, everyone could hear her footstep. The head cook walked up to Philip "thank you Mr. Philip you came at the right time, I am so scared of what would have happened if you had not intervened on time". Martha quietly went back to the pie she was had started eating like nothing had happened.
Philip scoffed with disbelieve. "She is amazing, it was like nothing ever happened" he said to himself he had never seen someone strong willed and stubborn. It made him interested to know more about her.

Mary was at the library she knew she would the book she needed for her research there. She had seen that book before, if she didn't find it she might likely find another. She was busy going through the stack of books on the shelf when She noticed someone at leaning on the shelf with a book in his hand. "Mary" she ignored him and kept walking by.
"Mary?" she ignored him knowing who the voice belonged to but perhaps if she kept on walking he would let her be. "Seriously, are we going through this again?" she turned facing him, "what do you want?"
"you know what I want, it's time for the next soul" she quickly leaned forward and said in a low tone
"I know"
Night chuckled "everybody has souls I don't know what you are talking about"
Mary sighed "isn't that poor girl enough". He gave her a look of disgust "oh please Mary don't guilt trip me, we both knew she was the major bitch you needed to get rid of. After all I made her die a very slow and natural death by cough up blood from a lung disease which came from her habit of smocking. Who would ever guess that you put her up for death Mary" he came closer to her putting his hand under her chin and lifts her face up slightly to his "nobody Mary, no one can say it was you" pushing his hands off her face she walked past him "leave me alone" Mary said.
He didn't follow her, just stayed behind and watched her leave "oh well just left you, 48 hours Mary, 48 hours" he turns his back and leaves.
Mary began to breathe so hard, her chest rising and falling like she had run a marathon. "Not again" she quickly moved to the desk where she had left her things in the library, hurriedly packed and began to work out in a hurry, suddenly she bumped into someone. When she looked up she saw her ex-husband. She quickly remembered that Martha who owned this body had an ex-husband named Ben, she remembered that he and his mother had ill intentions towards her. "Miss Bernard it's so nice seeing you here although not in this way" he stopped to help her pick her books "I had an appointment with one of the lecturers in the building, I was quickly leaving when I bumped into you, I mean it's so nice to see you.
She looked at him but doesn't say anything while picking up her things. "I don't know if you would like to go on a dinner with me Martha?" she looked at him slowly, now in disgust. The memory of how he and his mother ended the life of the previous owner of this body came back to her, she would be foolish to maaake the same mistake of getting married to him again, especially when life had reversed, giving this opportunity to do things right. Just as she was about to turn him down, she stopped and remembered she needed another soul. What better soul could it be than the soul of the man standing in front of her
