She picks up her phone and dials a number. Cynthia picks up the phone
"oh my gosh Martha I have not gotten a call from you for a while". The girl had an annoying high-pitched voice and she wondered how Martha was ever friends with her.
"Well I thought of how bad of a friend I have been and decided to make it up to you" Mary drawled out slowly, carefully picking her words, she knew Cynthia was part of the people who assisted Martha's motherin-law and ex-husband to kill her. They knew of the plan but kept quiet. She got to know of this information because her mother in-law had said it before ending Martha's life. Cynthia replies from the other end saying, "not a problem it would be nice to hang out with you, so when would that be?" Mary replies "how about right now? Why waste any more time?". Mary had the whole lounge booked for her outing with her so called friends, Cynthia was not only going to be there but Mia, Thelma, Georgina and Jane.
She comes into the booked lounge for their meeting after keeping them waiting, it was not intentional, she had to calm her nerves. Although she disliked them, she was not enthusiastic about killing anyone. Entering into the building she was met with fake greetings from her so-called friends. They all came hugging her. "Oh you're here we are so happy you booked this lounge for us it's so beautiful". After the hugs she looks at them and could see the jealousy in their eye. She could see they were all after what they would get from her, she smirks inwards knowing that she would be getting something from them tonight which was their souls.
She sat down telling them to pick whatever they want. They did just that and began to laugh talking about their plans they had made to sabotage someone for wealth all though it was not said directly.
Mary in Martha's body thought to herself this world is really vain. She needed a good reason to do what she had to do. She kept smiling and nodding acting like she cared about their stupid conversations as she thought of how she was going to drain their souls from their bodies. Still in the same thought she wondered who she was going to be the first to die. Was it going to be Cynthia who knew all about her mother in-laws plan to take her life or Jane who had known her husband was cheating on her with Mia? or Thelma who had tried to poison her to take her life although it failed or Georgina who had tried to sabotage her business with the help if her ex-husband? Or should she take their lives at once? It wasn't an easy pick but she had to pick one first. Mary's though got interrupted when
Jane called out "Martha you need to see the new designer wears I got and they are all sparkly and every girl dream". She nodded with gusto and then smile given they had changed their topic of discussion. Mary decided to be a bit cordial with them, at least she owed whoever would die tonight that much. "I would have to use the restroom if you could excuse me". She notices their uncomfortable body movements "Oh we could go with you Martha" Cynthia responds on their behalf.
"No,it okay Mary in Martha's body says I can go on my own".
Before Mary leaves, she puts her phones recorder on leaving it on the table and takes off. After some minutes she comes back and everyone was suddenly quiet.
Georgina quickly says "are you done Martha?" She knew they had been talking all about her, with a quick smile she said
"Oh no I am not I just forgot my phone. Mary makes it to the bathroom playing the record she had made with her phone. Listening to the record she hears Georgina say "I don't know why her business hasn't still crumbled after all efforts to destroy it I guess it just her luck".
Mia responds saying "I wonder why I went after her stupid husband thinking all she had will be taken byhim so I can have it all. Imean I am so jealous of her life. Why does she have to be the one to enjoy such luxuries? And she does not still have a boyfriend, I guess my curse on her that she would never meet a good man seems to be working" they all laughed out loud. "What a looser" both Thelma and Jane Mia Choruses together and they all broke into another feast of laughter.
Martha smiled,well there is no one to choose, they all deserve death. She comes back telling them all its time to go order dinner, shop and have some fun. They all stand up in excitement exiting the building, the ate dinner in an exquisiterestaurant, went cloth shopping, make up shopping, shoe shopping and even car shopping. Mia didn't mind treating them to all these because they were all going to die. So it was best to step back and let them enjoy their lives for a while. In her thought she felt cold about what was going to happen but Mary says to herself better them than her.
While they were shopping at the last store. She sees a gown that gets her attention, as she felt the soft silk with her hands, she felt a cold hand on her shoulder and a deep voice say "you like it don't you" She looked up and sees Night Cross in white shirt with two button left undone, a tight pant and a shades on his face with a smile.
Mary began to panic as she asks him, "what are you doing here".
He ran his fingers slowly down the dress while casually saying, "Mary you have an hour left, you really think I would forget to get my price?" Night cross then said" who would it be? Cynthia who knew all about your mother in laws plan to take your life or Jane who had knownyour husband was cheating on you with Mia? Or Thelma who had tried to poison you so she could takeyour life although it failed or Georgina who had tried to sabotage your business with the help of your ex-husband?"
Mary looks at him, realizing he read her thoughts, a look of horror filled her face "you are very evil" she spat out. He laughed out "Oh please are you telling me you did not enjoy the pleasure that these people actually disliked you so it was easy to give up their souls? If you are so self-righteous Martha or rather Mary why not give up your soul!" He smirked. "You see I am a very generous person, people always say the opposite but I believe I am very generous without doubt I gave you a second chance at life, I gave you wealth, I gave you all these beautiful things so how can you say I am evil? Rather than get ready I will give you one more chance, to pick Mary, who would it be?" Before she could answer him, one of the girls calledout her name
"Martha". She jerked hoping they did not see who she was talking to or hear her conversation. "Who are you talking to and why are you standing there? We need to go". Mary still sees Night cross but they couldn't see him. He removes his glasses and smiled. "Tick tock Mary all you need to do is call the name of that person three times" while waving to her, He began to sing "Mary has a little lamb little lamb little lamb" in a cold creepy voice. Mary almost lost her balance while she holds on to racks of clothes to stable herself. A lady working at the stall asked her "Ma'm what's wrong why are your eyes are red". She thought to herself and said in a little voice to the sales girl "maybe because I am about to shed blood".She could see the visible fear in the girl's face, She closed her eyes and it opens them.
"Just kidding" she smiled at the girl and walks away.
