Alpha Jaxon

"Red wolf, remember?" Adeline shot back confidently, a mischievous glint in her eyes, and I swear I could feel my cock straining against my jeans. She let go of my hand and bounced down the staircase. I couldn't avert my gaze from her round ass swaying from side to side as she descended in front of me.

When we reached the bottom of the staircase, I made sure no one was in sight before pushing my mate against the foyer wall as our lips slammed together. The passion burned between us, each twist and turn of our tongues growing rougher, wilder, more explosive. I felt an intensifying need to have her tongue stroke my hard shaft, to watch her eyes glaze over as she took my length deeper inside her throat while her gags filled the air around us.

My hands rushed to her plump ass, which fit perfectly in my palms as I lifted her and pressed her body harder against the wall. I knew she could feel my hardness pushing against her core as she used the leverage of the wall to grind against my painfully strained cock. Fuck, I wanted to take her right here. Whoever happened to waltz by, so be it.

Adeline let out a small moan in my mouth, and my hand crept up her shirt, toying with her rock-hard nipples between my fingers.

"Uhm," someone cleared their throat behind me, and I was ready to spin around and rip their throat out.

"Can you guys get a damn room? I don't think the pack needs to see the Alpha and Luna of their pack fucking against the foyer wall," a familiar female voice chirped.

Adeline pulled away abruptly, making my hand fall from beneath her shirt. I nearly burst out laughing when I saw the array of reds covering her face as she stared at me wide-eyed like a deer in headlights.

Adeline let out a deep breath I hadn't noticed she was holding, probably due to the fact that I just had her pinned against the pack house foyer wall. Classy.

"Sophia," she answered breathlessly, pressing her lips together. Of course the cock block had to be my sister, and I wasn't exactly surprised. Just my luck. I stepped behind Adeline to hide my protruding bulge before turning back to Sophia, who looked rather satisfied that she'd managed to interrupt.

"Can I help you?" I asked, feeling a muscle tick in my jaw as it clenched tightly.

"Meh, not really. Just heading to have a bite. You know you guys do have a room, right?" Sophia teased, and I swear I saw a bead of sweat trail down the back of Adeline's neck from embarrassment.

"Yeah, yeah," I replied. "We're off to do a run of the borders. Shouldn't you be getting ready for a certain something tomorrow?"

Sophia clapped her hands together eagerly, and I was suddenly reminded of the little girl who used to do that whenever she got excited or when Dad let her have a second helping of dessert. I imagined how thrilled she'd be tomorrow when she found out that Alpha Christian was her fated mate. Moments like this, I wished Mom and Dad were still around. I was flooded with guilt, reminiscing on my mistakes and how we got to this moment because of my own foolish errors. They would have given anything to see their little girl meet her mate. They also always liked Christian and thought he'd make a fine Alpha one day. There was no doubt they'd be happy for their only daughter.

"Perfection like this requires little work, Jaxon," Sophia shot back, then returned her gaze to Adeline. "Any idea what you're going to wear? I can't wait for you to see the dress the town seamstress made for me. It's quite... avant-garde, as they say in Hollywood."

Adeline shot Sophia the biggest grin I'd ever seen. "Once Jax and I are done with our run, I'll meet you in your room?" she offered, though I sensed her excitement for Sophia leaking from her voice.

Adeline and Sophia quickly said their goodbyes, and before long, Adeline and I shifted and reached the corner of the pack, getting ready to run the entire border. A rustle sounded in the bush across from us, and my fingers dug into Adeline's arm. I was relieved when she bit back a hiss. I stood tall, determined to protect her at all costs—even at the cost of my own life.

Adeline cleared her throat obnoxiously, and behold, a rabbit hopped out and dashed through the trees.

"All right, red wolf, let's see what you caught," I taunted, trying to divert attention from my own panic that turned out to be nothing more than a rabbit.

As if on cue, Adeline's wolf took control and began sniffing the ground around us. I followed her lead, taking my time to sniff the forest floor myself.

Adeline's head shot up, and I felt the nerves bouncing off her as she activated the mind link between us.

"Jax... this is bad. This is really bad," she explained, rushing to follow the scent on whatever trail she had just picked up.
