Good morning, Milady. I see you're up by yourself today. He smiled and kept the tray on the table. Vierne stared at him as he poured the tea into the cup, Do you know, Milady, He turned towards her, Lavender tea is the best pain reliever—
She jumped at him and he fell on the bed, Milady, the tea—
She hugged him tightly, Milady? Is everything alright?
It wasn't. But now, it might be.
He smiled, The tea is getting cold,
Vierne sat at the table near the balcony and enjoyed her morning tea as Lict played a soothing violin piece for her. He prepared the bath and after she took a bath, she found her food ready on the dining table. She ate it and walked back to her room. She took her books while Lict brushed her hair.
Lict, She whispered.
Yes, Milady?
I really like...the violin that you play.
He smiled, That's nice to hear. I can play it for you every day.
Yes, play it for me every day. Play it for me till the day I die.
He didn't look very happy after hearing those words. His smile had a hidden sadness. Vierne looked at his face through the mirror before them.
Is that an order? He asked.
She breathed, That's a request.
He smiled, I would play it for you till my fingers have the strength to.
Vierne didn't like this answer, And what after that? She asked.
Well, He looked at the ceiling, There are many violinists out there.
He moved away from her, There. Your hair is done, Milady.
Oh, you woke up! Akagi stood at Vierne's door, Finally, I'd have some fucking good food.
That's all that Milord cares about. Aren't you bothered about Lict at all? Melissa stood beside him.
I might; like I look unbothered but deep down inside, in the deepest corner of my heart—I'm still unbothered.
I was expecting something lustful!
Keep your expectations low and your standards high! Alright now, enough of morning prayers—
That was a prayer?
Bring your ass to the car. We're getting late. Meanwhile, I'll go have some fucking good food.
Akagi, Lict stepped forward. Akagi turned back and looked at him, What?
I don't feel like going to school anymore. He said. Vierne was shocked.
What—But why, Lict? Melissa asked.
...I like staying at home. Lict smiled
Shut the fuck up and come down. You can't drop out under my watch.
You're not my master! Lict turned towards Vierne, Milady—
Lord Akagi is right. You shouldn't drop out in between.
Okay, He gave in.
Vierne realised that Lict wasn't himself. He was trying to keep their conversations short and avoided talking to her or looking into her eyes. He would stay with Dasha and her friends. They stopped bothering Vierne after that.
Lict, want to have lunch together? Vierne asked.
I promised Dasha that I'd eat with her.
'No, you don't want to stay beside me. But it is okay. I won't force you to or beg you.'
Lict is eating with her again! Melissa groaned. She sat beside Vierne on the stairs as she ate her lunch, Why don't you say something, Vierne?! He's your star spirit, not hers! You can give him orders—You have every right over him!
Melissa, you can't force love onto someone. And a love that I have to force isn't worth having.
Melissa looked at Vierne and her face dropped, But Vierne, he looks much happier with you, not Dasha. He doesn't even glow golden anymore like he used to.
Vierne didn't say anything. The bell rang and she got up, I'll go now. Got a math class.
She left Melissa on the stairs, You look sad too, Vierne. I don't understand why you both are making yourself go through this when it doesn't make you who you are.
She reached her class and looked at Lict, Dasha, Grigory and Debora sitting together on the last benches.
He's your star spirit, not hers! You can give him orders—You have every right over him!
She gathered her courage and walked towards Lict. They all looked at her, Lict, sit with me today.
But Milady—
It's an order.
'I am such a hypocrite'
Lict got up. What? Who are you to give him orders? Lict, why are you listening to her—Lict! Dasha shouted as he followed Vierne to the first seat. She glanced at him. He seemed sad. She knew it wasn't a good decision and decided not to do it again. The class started but Vierne felt something weird. She decided to look at it later and just focus on the class. Lict glanced at her from the corner of his eyes. But as soon as he looked down, his eyes widened.
Milady! He got up. Vierne had blood all over her skirt, which was flowing down her legs. She got up and looked at her seat, What—What is this? Lict removed his coat and wrapped it around Vierne's waist. He picked her up and ran out of the class. The teacher and everyone else was speechless.
Dasha and Debora snickered while gossiping about what had just happened, but Grigory seemed worried. Then, he glared at Dasha.
What's so funny? He asked.
Didn't you just see what happened? She got her period and she was like—What is this? Dasha laughed.
And how is that funny? Don't you get a period? He said.
What are you saying, Grigory. Shut up! She turned red with embarrassment.
Why? Aren't you a woman too? This is what disgusts me about women—They expect men to support them while they can't do that for each other. Dasha, you disgust me! He got up and walked out of the class.
Am I invisible to you people? The teacher had his own issues. Everyone was gossiping. While Dasha, she could think of only one thing.
Vengeance.
