These small gestures of concern didn't escape Bianca's notice. One day, as I was cleaning a conference room, Bianca suddenly burst in, her face flushed with anger.
"What exactly have you done to Logan?" she demanded, her voice full of hostility.
I continued wiping the table, trying to stay calm. "I don't know what you're talking about."
"Don't play dumb!" She approached me, danger flashing in her eyes. "Since you came back from the hospital, his attitude toward you has completely changed."
I looked up at her, tired of her neurosis. "He's just a compassionate person."
Bianca's face twisted with rage. "Listen, you pathetic cleaner. Whatever you're planning won't work. I'm the Blackwood heiress, and you're just a cleaner who'll be thrown out sooner or later. That's the truth."
Her words stung, but I no longer cowered as before. "Truth?" I said calmly. "The truth will come to light one day."
Bianca sneered. "Who do you think you are? No one will believe a cleaner's word."
Just then, Logan walked in, seeing our confrontation. "What's going on?" he asked, obvious concern in his voice.
Bianca instantly transformed, her anger vanishing, replaced by a sweet smile. "Nothing, darling. I was just chatting with Zoe."
Logan's gaze moved between us, clearly not believing her explanation. "Zoe, are you alright?"
"She's fine," Bianca answered before I could. "Right, Zoe?"
Logan frowned. "Bianca, if you have time to chat here, perhaps you should go finish your work report. I believe it's already two days late."
Bianca's expression froze, clearly not expecting Logan to speak to her this way. "But..."
"No buts," Logan said firmly. "Please return to your office."
Bianca didn't dare disobey, but as she passed me, she whispered threateningly: "This isn't over."
After she left, Logan turned to me. "What did she say to you?"
I hesitated, then decided to tell him the truth. "She warned me to stay away from you, saying I'm just a cleaner while she's the Blackwood heiress."
Logan's expression turned serious. "Don't mind her words. I've started investigating, but it will take some time. Until then, if she harasses you again, tell me immediately."
His protection made me feel warm but also worried. "Aren't you afraid she'll tell Victoria?"
Logan shook his head. "I don't care. The truth is more important than anyone's opinion."
## Logan's Perspective
After leaving the conference room, I went straight to my office, closed the door, and took a deep breath. Since discovering the scars on Zoe's back at the hospital, I couldn't stop thinking about it.
If Bianca and Zoe truly grew up together, why did only Zoe have those scars? Moreover, the location of those scars perfectly matched Daphne's medical records after the accident.
I opened my computer to check on the DNA test I'd privately arranged. The samples had been sent to the lab, but results would take a few more days. Until then, I decided to see Aunt Victoria and at least express some of my concerns.
That evening, I arrived at Blackwood Estate. Aunt Victoria warmly welcomed me, but when I mentioned my doubts about Bianca's identity, her expression immediately turned cold.
"What are you saying, Logan?" she demanded, shock and disappointment in her voice. "DNA tests have proven Bianca is my daughter."
"I know, but something doesn't add up," I tried to explain. "Daphne wouldn't be that heartless, attention-seeking girl."
Victoria shook her head, her eyes full of doubt. "Logan, if you don't like Bianca, just say so. No need to invent these absurd reasons."
I looked at her in surprise. "This isn't about whether I like Bianca, Aunt Victoria. This is about the truth."
"The truth has been scientifically proven," Victoria said firmly. "If you want to break the engagement, just say so. Don't use these excuses."
I realized Aunt Victoria had completely misunderstood my intentions. She was so eager to believe Bianca was her long-lost daughter that she refused to consider any other possibility.
"I'm not trying to break the engagement," I said calmly. "I just want to ensure the person I'm marrying is truly Daphne."
Victoria's expression softened slightly, but her stance remained unchanged. "Logan, I understand your caution, but please don't bring this up again. Bianca is my daughter. That's not up for debate."
I nodded, knowing arguing now was pointless. I needed more evidence, more concrete proof, to convince her.
After leaving Blackwood Estate, I decided to accelerate my investigation. I contacted Marcus, asking him to thoroughly investigate Zoe's foster parents and Bianca's background. Meanwhile, I also expedited the DNA testing process.
The truth was within reach—I could feel it. And I wouldn't stop searching until it surfaced.
