He didn't finish his sentence, but I understood exactly what he meant.

Daniel had been in the industry three years longer than me, but his career had never truly taken off. He'd played countless supporting roles and won a few minor awards, but fame had always eluded him. I could see it in his eyes—that desperate hunger to prove himself, to stand in the spotlight.


The raw longing in his eyes filled me with sudden guilt.

I had soared while he remained grounded.

We were a couple; shouldn't we rise together?


"You will," I squeezed his hand. "I'll help you get there."

He looked up, his expression a mixture of hope and something else I couldn't quite read.


"Really?"

"Really."

He pulled me into a tight embrace.

"Thank you, baby."

That night, I made a decision that would change everything—I would put my own career on hold and focus on helping him succeed. Once he became famous too, we would move forward together as equals.

Looking back now, my naivety is almost laughable.
