"A f*cking Dragon?"
Brandon whispered from beside me.. He and Phoebe had just landed on a helicopter with Alpha Light Angle and her second and third in comman, Noah.

Everyones' attention was focused on the man who sat infront of us. Diago.
He is now wearing a black shirt and some borrowed sweats and he sits there with his arms crossed over his chest with absolutly no regardes to all the shifters that were watching him.
"I though those shifters were extinct?" Brandon asked out loud and Diago looked over to him.
"Nothing stays extinct, my brother. Just trapped somewhere until it is free." He answered before glancing over to me.
"How is your mate?" He asked me directly and i nodded my head.
"She's sleeping."

"How is it that you were in the blood moon pack just minutes before the attack here and you arrived just in time to save Rori?" That question came from Alpha Light.
Diago shrugged a single shoulder "My dragon felt like something was wrong so i flew here. Dragons can fly so fast that you won't be able to see them coming unless they want you to."
"Why was you being a Dragon such a big secret?" I asked and he almost looked angry at my question.
"Why did i hide my dragon? That seems a very stupid question, Alpha Adalwolf Czar. No offence."

Diago looked around the room before he side as he reached up his right hand to rub two fingers aginst his brows.
"I was born from two human parents that had absolutly no knowledge about the supernatural world. I shifted at the age of four. Do you have any idea how terrifing it was for a four year old to feel his bones crack and break as they rearrange themselves into a monsters' form." He shook his head before leanimg back on his chair.
"I hide because where i come from, society doesn't accept people shape shifting. They would concider me a monster or a demon. I hide it well for a decade but i guess...not all secrets can be kept forever..."
Diago trailed off and i watched as his mind driffted else where. He sharply looked away from the rest of us and i assumed that this conversation was over.
No body bothered to ask him what happened when his secret came out but i'm sure it must have been ugly.
"Wait?" Duck- Roris' father called out- "Your a shifter born from humans? Both sides?" He asked and i already know where this was going.
Diago shifted his gaze over to our former beta before noding his head.
"Then...what are the chances of a human being born form shifters?" He asked and the room fell silent. I feel like every single being in this rooms knows what he was talking about.
The daughter he had mistreated all her life.
"It happens more offten than you think." Mr. Beam answered through the speaker.
Alpha light had called Mr. Beam immideatly before the meeting started so he can listen in. He is one of the four people those shadow are trying to get so he deserve to get an updeate.
"Diago is a drago born form humans." Mr. Beam continued "Alpha Light is a Right-eyed wolf born from ordinary wolves. I my self, am a bear shifter born from tiger shifters. And my daughter is born from a human and a bear yet, she has no shifter in her. Just because we are born from a blood line doesn't mean we will carry all their traits. It doesn't work like that in the supernatural world. Pray give birth to preditors and preditors give birth to prays."
His answer shuts Duke down. I have no idea what is going on in his head right now but i can see that he is close to losing it.
Because of his backward thinking, he managed to lose both a daughter and a mate. Loni- Roris' mother and Dukes' mate- had been through a lot because she gave birth to a human. Duke had even hinted on several occations that she might have cheated on him.
But when Rori disappeared and the first rumor hit before i announced that i was responsible for her death, Loni had kicked Duke out of the house and went to my father to ask him to break their bond.
But at the time, my father had refused because he said that all the alpha duties would soon be passed down to me and that i would be handling their bond as well.
When Duke learned that i was searching for his daughter, he had helped me. He doesn't let it show, but he was desperate to find Rori just as much as i was.
I have even witnessed him having a major panick attacks and breakdowns every time we came to a dead end.
As a final favor before he stepped down from his position, he asked me to hold off on breaking his bond with his mate. He loves Loni. I know he does. But his pride had gotten on the way of his love. And now, he is working day and night to right his wrongs.
"Excuse me." He murmered before walking out of my office.
"I should go check on Rori." Said Phoebe and Brandon let her go after pressing his lips against her forehead. She gave him a warm smile before leaving and i couldn't help but want what he has.
I'm very happy for brandon and Phoebe. Brandon mostly. Because the last four years had been hard on him too.
When he came out of the hospital after the car crash, he stopped coming to school or going out of his room in general. He was ashamed of the scar on his face.
He refused to be my betta because he thought he failed me. He told me that he wasn't able to protect Rori that night. And if he couldn't protect the person he was told to protect, then he doesn't deserve the beta title.
Here is the thing though. I have never once blamed Brandon for what happened. And i never though to give the beta title to anyone else. I knew he needed time and i was more than happy to give him space.
But four years was a lot for a person to hide behind their hood and punish themselves for something they couldn't change.
That day after getting an invitation to Alpha Lights' daughters births day, i had forced Brandon to come with me.
Him meeting Phoebe was probably the best thing that happened to him. She immideatly brought him out of his shell and his hood.
It was the exact same day he found her that he told me he would take the betas posstion.
"If you don't mind, i'd like a bed. I'm exhusted." Diago commented without even bothering to look at me and with a sigh, i signaled for my gamma, Jammy, to take him to a room.
Without hesitation, Jammy nodded his head before he asked Diago to follow him.
As he left, i remembered how he flinged that net off of Rori during the attack and i couldn't resist the utge to call out to Diago.
"Diago." He stopped to look at me over his shoulder "thank you."
He nodded his head before he followed Jammy.
I felt the urge to see Rori as my wolf kept stirring in my chest. So, i ordered some of my worriors to take Alpha Light and her people to a room before i excused myself.
I rushed my way to the pack hospital without stopping for anyone. When i got there, i found Duke looking through the cracked door.
He had his hands balled up in a fist as he looked at his daughter. Regret, longing, shame...i can feel his emotions radiating through the air.
"Duke." I called out and he glance over to me with red puffy eyes. "Do you want to go in there and see her?" I asked but he shook his head.
"Loni is in there. I don't want to disturbe her." He commented before walking way.
With a sigh, i opened the door and softly closed it after i walked in.
"Did he leave?" Loni asked me and i realized that she knew her mate was just outside the door. When i nodded my head, she sighed and looked away in disappointment.
As much as she wants to break the bond between her and her mate, anyone can see that all she wants is effort from him and to love his daughter.
I looked around the room to see that Harke is sleeping with his head parked on his forearms and phoebe was tending to Rori.
Phoebe was sitting next to Rori across from Loni as she placed a white cloth over her forehead.
"She has a high fever, Alpha." She softly commented as she looked at me and i looked over to my mate.
Rori looked paler than she was when i left for my meeting. Worry grabbed my heart and squeezed it tight in its fist as i moved closer to her.
I leaned over and brused the back of my hamd against her cheek and realized that she is burning up.
"That net they threw on her...was it spelled or poisoned?" I asked phoebe and she looked at me with hesitation.
She looks like she knew the answer but shook her head. Loni and i looked at her with greath curiousity.
"We can only tell once she's awake." Said Phoebe dismissively and I focused my attention back to my woman.
I know she is hiding something. Both Phoebe and Rori. I need to find out if i'm going to protect her. But not now.
Now, all i want to do is make sure her fever breakes and take care of her until she feels safe enough to open up to me.
Because i meant what i said to Harke earlier. I need her back because i love her, i'v been in love with her long before we were even mates.
Because she is my woman and i would do anything for her.
