Chapter 39

I awake to an empty bed, Loki’s scent wrapped around me like a blanket. I sigh. Letting my eyes flutter open. A part of me was disappointed to find Loki had left. Last night had been...different. He hadn’t tried to kiss me or touch me. Although I had felt his semi pressed ageist me. He did nothing. I wasn’t sure how I felt about that. A part of me had wanted him to touch me, to kiss me, to make me cum. And yet.... at the same time, he had been a gentleman. Something I had never thought Loki was capable of.
As I sat up in Loki’s bed, I spotting a note on the bedside table. I lunged for it like a fucking insane person, grinning from ear to ear. Wrote in a masculine scrawl that could have only been, Loki’s handwriting read;
Baby Girl (Still calling you it, bite me),
Thanks for last night; let’s do it again sometime. But next time, less clothes?
Sorry for leaving, I’ve gone to see Storm, would have woken you, but A) you sleep like the dead and B) you needed it!
See you tonight? Black Wing vs Red Vipers, Look out for me, #30. I’ll be the one doing all the work, LOL
Yours,
Satan Xxx
I couldn’t help the smile that spread across my face as I read his note. It was so...Loki. His humour and flirting. Still, he had invited me to the game tonight. The Game Asher had invited me to. Shit. I defiantly couldn’t go now, not unless I wanted another Alfa male dominance battle over me. No. I was going to go visit Storm, I had decided yesterday that I wanted to be honest with her, about everything and that’s exactly what I was going to do. I was going to put her first. Screw my problems; it could wait another day or hell a week or two. I couldn’t deny I enjoyed the attention. Though I knew it was selfish. But didn’t a girl have the right to be selfish every now and then? I wasn’t hurting anyone, right? They knew about each other, so it wasn’t like it was my fault if they kept pursuing me. It didn’t stop me from feeling bad. Not for Loki; he was a grown arse man. But Asher.... he was a sweetheart. It’s not like I had kissed him, not the other way around. I felt bad. I needed to make a decision.
I sighed. Cuddling closer to Loki’s pillow, his intoxicating scent filling my brain. A moan escaping my lips as I imagined Loki, here with me. I couldn’t help myself. I did the dirty in his bed, my head stuffed into his pillow. My fingers darted between my legs. Like a dirty slut. I didn’t give two shits.
After I reached my climax, I stripped off my clothes and climbed into his shower. Washing myself clean with his shower gel. Links excite. I couldn’t lie; they had it right on the mark. That shit smelt good! Once I was showered, I rubbed myself down with a clean towel and stalked back into the bedroom. Realising I had total forgot to bring anything with me. Fantastic. I stole the tee Loki had worn briefly last night, a pair of his boxers and jogging bottoms which were far too long for me. Desperate practically swallowing me whole, it felt sexy wearing his clothes. Really? I was losing my fucking head.
Once I was changed and stolen a bowl of cereal, I snuck back into my bedroom. Adam was thankfully in the kitchen with Alisa, from the sound of it. They were not innocently eating breakfast. Ewe. Not an image I wanted straight after breakfast. I would have to sanitise the whole room before I could step in it ever again. I changed back into my own clothes, a cute tight halter-neck zip-up dress, applied my makeup and left my hair loose. I would wear my knee-high platform boots with them later, but for now, I was going to be lazy for a few hours to avoid running into Loki at the hospital.
I signed into the reception at Storm’s wing. Checking the clipboard to find Loki had already sighed out, thank god. I needed to keep my distance from him until I had either broken things off with Asher or decided to break things off with Loki. However, I was sure that conversation would not be so easy. I only wished that some higher power could pick for me. Save me all the dam guesswork. I smiled overly sweetly at the nurse who was eyeing me. Judge bitch. Before stalking the short walk to Storm’s room, knocking before entering.
I was met with an empty room. Oh.
I stalked back the Mrs Judgmental. “Sorry, I’m looking for Storm Morganstar? She’s not in her room,” I enquired. The nurse looked me up and down, disapproving of my outfit.
“Are you family?” She questioned, raising one brow at me.
“I’m her adopted Sister”, I lie, repeating what Karen had told the nurse yesterday.
“Adopted Hu?” She considered with suspicious eyes. Again, I smile back at her, this time my bitterness seeping through.
“Do you have a problem?” I snap. But before she could answer, handsome Dr Quinn appeared beside me. The nurse quickly busying herself on the computer, I turn to the Doctor, smiling.
“Awh, Scarlett, isn’t it?” Dr Quinn greats me, offering his hand. I take it, smiling brightly. “Storm told me a lot about you. It’s a wonderful thing to be such close friends with your sister,” he beams.
“I’m fortunate to be gifted such a wonderful family”, I agree. “I was just on my way to see her actually, do you know where she is?” I asked, fluttering my lashes a little too much. He was very handsome.
“She’s with your mother in the communal room. It’s just through those double doors,” He informs me, pointing to the room opposite the reception. “Would you like me to escort you?” He offers, his hand still holding mine. I shake my head.
“Thanks for the offer, but I’m sure I can find my way. I’m glad my sister has such a wonderful Doctor,” I flirt shamelessly. He was too old for me, but hell, he was a Doctor, and I was not blind.
“You’re too kind”, He beams, finally dropping my hand. I bow my head to him a little before taking my leave toward the communal room. Looking over my shoulder to give the nurse one final bitchy smile. She glared at me. I almost laughed out loud.
I found my ‘sister’ sitting with Karen at one of the tables close to the window. A board game spread out in front of them; it was nice to see. I knew how much Storm adored board games, though she hadn’t even picked one up since before the incident with Barbie. Storm was dressed in her own clothes, as were all the patients in this ward. The ID card around her neck and the red band around her wrist was the only way to tell she was a patient here. I approached their table, Karen waving as soon as she saw me. “Hey Darling, how are you?” She asked, standing up to give me a quick hug. “You missed Loki. He left about an hour ago,” She added, an amused glint in her eye. Great. She was not going to let that go. Classic Karen.
“I’m well, thank you, did you managed to get much sleep? I heard you stayed here last night,” I ask.
“More than you, I’m sure”, She teased, winking at me. I frown...she didn’t know, did she? How could she? She had been here all night, and so was Storm the house had been empty. Unless Loki... no, he wouldn’t tell his mum. He wasn’t stupid. I smile, ignoring her accusation, instead turning to my best friend.
