Chapter 19

I walked through the crowd smiling from ear to ear. Tonight was going to be more fun than I had anticipated. Although Adam had abandoned me, which was kind of dick move seeing as he was the one that invited me. I didn't actually care that much. I was dressed to the nine and feeling sexy as hell.
My brother was only going to put a downer on my mood. Their little Alfa male act earlier, being proof of that. God, men, were such territorial arseholes. I could take care of myself, and it was nobody's goddam business who I took to bed and what I did with them. Though that was not to say I didn't enjoy playing with Loki. It was too fun, and I was a bitch like that. When I was a good distance away, I finished my text to Storm.
Me to Storm
The outfit is fire. Thank you for that ;) A& L just had a pissing contest. It looks like we are in for some drama tonight. Great. I'm going for a smoke, and then I might go dance. Missing you, wish you were here with me. Much love xoxox
I press send before shoving my phone back in my bra. I know, bad habit. Sorry, it’s just easier. I make my way outside, grabbing my jacket from the bannister as I walk past. The outside was apparently where everyone was congregating, and I had to squeeze past several bodies before finally making it to the balcony. I pull out my packet of smokes from my jacket pocket, putting one in my mouth. Shit. I forgot to bring a lighter.
“Need a light?” Asked a male voice. I turn on my heels finding Asher leaning on the railing beside me, smiling.
“Yes!” I beam at him. Taking the zippo from his palm. I light up, then pass it back. “Thanks.”
“No problem Hun,” He brushes off. “What happened with Adam and Loki earlier was crazy!” He remarked, moving closer to me to be heard over the shouts of the crowd around us.
“Tell me about it!” I roll my eyes. “I don't get what's Adam's problem is. I know he feels he need to protect me from the world, but he can’t control my dam life,” I declare, taking another drag.
“Well, I don't have any siblings, as you know. But I can understand that he feels protective of you. I guess he just wants to save you the heartbreak; after all, Loki is who he is,” Asher considers, Taking a drag of his some that smelt a lot like weed.
“I know, but I'm grown up now. I can make my own decisions, and I need to make my own mistakes,” I rant. Asher nods in understanding.
“So… you like him?” He declared rather than asked me. That is the thing I always liked about Asher. His feelings for me aside. He was an incredible guy, and it was partly why I had turned him down so many times. I would have broken him. He was kind, chatty, funny and always laid back.
“It doesn't matter if I do or not. As you said, Loki is who he is. Nothing is going to change that. I'm not stupid enough to pretend otherwise,” I answer honestly, pausing to take another drag before adding, “I'm not looking for a relationship. But that doesn't mean I want to be someone's conquest or side piece. I'm focused on myself. If I wanted sex, I would just self-satisfy.”
“You know I have so much respect for you right now,” He beamed, wrapping his arm around my shoulder and bringing me in for a hug. I laugh, hugging him back. “There are so few girls like you in the world. You are strong, independent, stubborn and have your own mind.” Asher compliments. Releasing me so that he could meet my eyes again. “ut I also know you are also back-shit crazy, but nobody is perfect,” He teased.
“Hey!” I laugh playfully, smacking his arm.
“Come on. You know you are!” He laughed. “Cheryl didn't get a nose job for nothing.”
“Oh my god! She isn't!” I squealed in disbelieve. He nodded.
“That's why she's been missing school, recovering from sugary,” he confirmed, throwing the end of his joint and running his hands through his hair. “Do you want to go inside? It’s pretty cold,” he suggests. I nod, flicking my own cigarette, before following after him. We walk into the house, and I quickly shrug off my jacket, leaving it on the bannister. My phone buzzing. I pull it out, blindly following Asher.
Storm
I knew it would be. Really? Why can't they just play nice? Drama seems to follow you around. Yes! Go dance. Miss you too, I know! Love ya xoxox
Loki
Where the hell are you? Pick up your phone. xx
I check my missed calls. Oops. Loki had, in fact, called me three times already. Yet, I hadn't noticed. Maybe I had turned my phone on silent without realising. I didn’t understand why he was looking for me anyway. It's not like we had ever hung out with each other at a party before. Usually, he would have already had his tongue down some girl’s throat. I cringe just thinking about it. Then quickly press redial. He picked up on the second ring.
“Tell me where you are?” Loki insisted, his desperate voice blasting through the speaker.
“Calm down, old man, I'm with Asher. Why?” I reply. Asher turning to look at me, holding out his hand as we squeeze through the masses of people. I take it gladly; my phone still pressed to my ear. I realised I had lost my drink somewhere. Oh well.
“Someone tried to drug you within five minutes of you arriving. So yeah, I'm fucking mad. Where are you guys?” Loki questioned. I pull on Asher's hand, getting him to stop moving.
“Hold on,” I tell Loki, moving the phone away from my mouth to talk to Asher. “Where are we going? To dance?” I suggest, wiggling my eyebrows at him.
“You want to dance?” Asher grins. I nod. “Front lounge then,” he replies. We switching directions, heading out of the crowd. I put the phone back to my mouth.
“Front Lounge,” I recite the information back to Loki.
“Meet you there. Stay close to Asher,” He instructs me before hanging up. No goodbye or anything. I quickly type out a text to Storm as we walk.
Me to Storm
They are too competitive. Everyone wants to be the Alfa male. I'm with Asher, going to get my dance on ;) Your brother has decided to be my unofficial bodyguard, apparently. Xoxox
I press send, putting my phone back in my bra. Finally, we arrive in the front Lounge. The music was much louder in here, lights had been set up to make the whole thing look like more of a disco, and all the sofa's had been pushed back to allow room for dancing. Thankfully it was less crowded in here, leaving plenty of room to dance. Asher turns back toward me, still holding my hand. He leans in to whisper in my ear.
“After you!” He beams. Pulling back to look at me. I smile from ear to ear and start moving. Asher followed suit, busting out some pretty good moves. I was surprised he was quite the dancer. The song 'My OH My' was playing, and I couldn't help but sing along. As I move my hips, arse and chest to the beat.
“They say he likes a good time (My oh my),
He comes alive at midnight (every night),
My Mumma doesn't trust him (Why oh Why?),
He’s only here for one thing (but so am I),
A little bit older,
A black leather jacket,
A bad reputation,
Insatiable habits,”
I couldn't help but think of Loki. The song was practically describing him word for word. There was no denying that I wanted him. Hell, I had been crushing on the guy since I was twelve. But could you blame me? Loki was what every girl wanted. He was a bad boy, and who didn't love a sexy bad boy?
He had the kind of body that made even a good girl want to sin, a smile that makes your knees weak. He was just the right amount of cocky, a little bit possessive and downright exciting. If he put his sights on you. You’re already fucked. How do you resist someone like that?
The answer is you don't. If a guy like that wants you, you are already his. The idea was frilling. But guys like him were only trouble with a capital T. The big question was, how much were you willing to risk?
