ADOPTED HEIR **Kendrick. Kendra**
Kendrick's P O V
"Kendrick, just look at that pretty lady on television. Can you believe she is just 33 years old?
She is the most popular and the most searched person now on the net. Everyone is talking about her. Her success, her beauty and her intelligence.
I wish I can be in her shoe. I wish I can be her." Kendra said and sighed sadly.
I lifted my eyes to stare at the television.
The name Isabella Asher Queens was clearly written on the screen.
"Yeah, if wishes were horses." I said and turned back to my shoes. I can't afford to be late to today's hangout.
"Where on earth are you even going to, Ken?" Kendra, my always curious stubborn twin sister asked.
"I'm meeting up with my friends. You don't need to know the details." I replied her.
"Can I come with you then? It's just that I'm bored here, I might really die from boredom left alone." She pouted.
"Go and play with grandma._ I smirked at her. She frowned.
"How can I play with her when she is always at the market? Should I really come with you? Please," she made a sad face.
"No!" I insisted. She came to me and grabbed my trouser. She blinked her eyes repeatedly in order for me to change my mind but there was no way I'm taking my sister to a all guys hangout. I don't want them staring at her.
I hate when guys, even tho they are my friends stare at her like they want to devour her whole. Its not new, I and my sister are considered the most cutest and most prettiest around here.
I don't know about my own looks, I honestly don't care if I'm really too handsome or not, but my sister's can't be hidden, it's true that she is indeed the most prettiest girls around her. All the girls that I've dated, I haven't come across one that will beat her in that area.
She has been winning miss beauty since she was only five. That made guys like her more and that makes me more protective of her.
It bothers me that my sister doesn't seems to understand that guys are really dangerous, she is just too carefree for my liking. She hangs out with anybody who shows her kindness, she trusts way too easily. Even our grandma had always begged me to look after her.
And I believe it's my duty to protect her since we have no parents whatsoever, our only guardian happens to be grandma who has really aged but still very strong.
"Kendrick!" I heard Will call from outside.
" Is it Williams?" Kendra suddenly stood up from the floor. She ran out before I could open my mouth.
This girl.
I finished wearing on my shoes and also walked outside to see Kendra chatting happily with Williams.
Williams happens to be my best friend and I really trust him, the only problem with him is his interest in girls. He doesn't date one single girl for more than a month. Always changing girls like he is changing his shirt.
Worst is he doesn't have a spec, he goes for any type of girl that throws herself at him. The thing he cares about so much is sleeping with them. I really don't want Kendra to fall for his type of guy. It could be a shame.
Seeing them together, I doubt that she hasn't fallen for him yet. He is handsome and It's obvious he likes her, but all the girls he happens to like seems to end up heartbroken at the end.
I can only warn Williams to stay away from Kendra, I can't tell Kendra to stay away from him because she wouldn't listen. She's so free with everyone.
"Hey Drick," Will waved at me.
"Hey," I grumpily replied.
"Please stay for 15 minutes, I'm bored alone please." Kendra said grabbing unto Williams hand.
Williams made to talk but when I sent him a 'I dare you to' look, he quickly smiled and shook his head.
"No pretty, I'm sorry. The other guys are waiting for us right now."
"No....no..no, I don't want to die alone here." Kendra insisted.
"Okay, let's do this. After the meeting with the guys, I'll come back with your brother." Will said.
Kendra sighed sadly and left his hands.
She turned to give me a death glare.
"What did I do?" I asked but she folded her arms in and walked into the house without replying me.
"Did you bring your car?" I asked Will.
"No, we are taking Aiden's car today. He is currently waiting for us at the front of his house. Let's go." Will replied and we started matching to Aiden's house.
Few meters away from our house and Will won't stop smiling.
"Hey man, do you like my sister?" My question seems to have surprise him. His expression turned neutral, then he grinned after some time.
"I don't know. Do I?" He grinned. I frowned.
"Hey don't play games with me. You know I won't allow you do what you do with the other girls to my sister. I'll kill you if you try that." I hissed.
"Huh, is your sister still a virgin? I wasn't aware. But rest assured, she's turning 18 soon, I'll be the one taking her virginity away." He laughed as he said it.
I stopped walking to glare at him. He noticed and also stopped walking.
"Seems like I'm going to kill you today then." I flashed a murderous grin at him.
"Okay, I'm going to run now. I'm really going to..."
He didn't complete his sentence before he took off, I ran after him not giving him a breathing space.
That bastard.
He got to Aiden's house and only stopped.
"It's okay. It's enough. I give up, I won't have sex with your sister, I promise." He said breathing so fast.
I also puffed out hot breath from my mouth and nostrils.
I made to grab his shirt but Aiden stopped me.
"It's okay man. He said he is not going to have sex with her. That doesn't mean I won't tho. Your sister is so pretty, anyone could give up everything to be with her." Aiden said.
"Bastards! I'll kill you before you bring that boneless thing near her." I frowned.
They both laughed out.
"Geez. Seeing you protect your sister like this is so lovely, Drick. But you know me, I will never do anything to her without your permission. I'm just kidding. Even tho I find her too pretty, I know she won't easily belong to me. She is also really smart." Will said touching my shoulder.
"Get your hands off me, idiot. And you get into your car and take us to that hideout." I say and opened Aiden's car.
We all got in and he started his car.
"So, your birthday party. Where are you guys planning on celebrating it? It's just next week Wednesday." Aiden asked.
"I don't know. I'm also clueless." I mumbled.
"We should discuss it with the guys today. Maybe we all can plan something for you two. I mean turning 18 is a big thing man." Will supported.
"We don't have money to waste. Don't even think of it." I said to them.
"Who told you we want your money to plan a birthday party for you?" Will smirked.
"Look, I don't want a party. You could just get anything for us as gifts. Forget about the silly party and I mean it." I say to them.
Both Will and Aiden looked at each other.
"Okay, I think he meant every word he said just now. Let's just obey his words and look for something to get him." Aiden said to Will.

I got home drunk, not too drunk, I got to hear Kendra and grandma talking. More like Kendra was forcing grandma to speak.
"When granny? When are you going to tell us about how our parents died? Don't we deserve to know the truth or what? I'm really tired of asking you this every time and you won't say a word." Kendra said.
"When it's time child, you'll find out on your own. The truth is not for me to reveal, please understand." Grandma replied.
"No! I insist. We are turning 18 next week for goodness sake. Which year are we going to find out? Perhaps on our deathbed? Just tell us how out both parents died." Kendra insisted.
I walk into the sitting room to stop Kendra from forcing grandma to speak.
"Kendra stop it. Let's go to bed." I pull her up from the sofa and pulled her to her room.
"No stop. I want to find the truth out tonight, Ken. Let go of me." Kendra insisted.
"You can't. Granny won't tell us. She's determined to keep whatever secret. And you can't conclude that our parents is died yet. They might still be alive." I say to her.
She laughed.
"They are both dead, Ken. There is no way they'll be alive and won't come find us. I just want to know how they both died. I just want to know..." she said tearing up.
"She'll tell us when she is ready. Please stop forcing her to speak. She is the only one we got and she is quite aged. I'm sure you don't want her to die. Promise me you won't bring this topic up again?" I asked.
She remained muted for a while before nodding in agreement.
