Damien's pov
It had been a whole hour since I crowned the new couple Alpha and Luna and I was ready to join my own Luna in bed.
“Drake seems to be quite close to Alpha Thomas, they're been having private conversation the whole day” Lucien said, bringing this to my attention for the first time.
I raised a brow at him and he shrugged, “you were busy” he said dismissively, making me roll my eyes.
I looked around the crowd and saw the new Luna mingling with other Lunas and pack members and her Alpha was sitting in a corner getting wasted.
My eyes found Drake and Thomas again and I wondered what it was they were talking about.
Thomas was one of the Alpha's that were against my reign, the only reason he was alive is because he realised they couldn't win and switched sides quickly.
Was he going to try something else? Aligning his pack with the two that merged today would definitely give him a foot to stand on.
Something told me to look back at the idiot drinking himself blind at his own ceremony and an uncomfortable feeling settled when I couldn't find him.
I felt a rush of fear go through me and I knew it wasn't my own.
“Let's go find Alari” Roman said, sounding a bit agitated and I didn't need to be told twice, at least William was with her.
“Keep an eye on everyone, I have to go to my mate” I said and left Lucien to keep tabs on my behalf.
I had only taken a few steps when I saw William leaving the pack house. Why the hell was he out here? Did she wake up and decide to come find me?
“Find our mate!” Roman yelled at me and I picked up my pace, feeling myself get agitated.
“Damien!” Alari's frightened voice rang in my head and I bolted for the house. Goddess save that idiot because if he touches my mate, it would be the last thing he ever does!
The crowd parted as I ran, not one of them wanting to be in my way and I was glad not all of them were fools like their Alpha.
I yanked the door open in time to see Xavier flying off of my mate, hit both sides of the hallway before hitting the ground with a grunt.
I stood only for a few seconds to try and figure what was happening but when I realised Alari wasn't moving, panic gripped my heart.
I rushed over to her, jumping over the idiot Alpha's knocked out body.
“Alari!” I called out as I knelt before her, eyes closed and looking paler than usual. Her eyes cracked open a little but it seemed she was too weak to fully open them. Fuck, what did that idiot do?
“Baby look at me, I'm here, Alari I'm here” I said as I picked her up, which was when I noticed her fingers.
They were frosted over, clear and a blueish white and when my eyes traveled back to her face, I spotted blood on her neck.
On my mark to be precise!
He had tried to mark my mate!!!
“It's time for him to die! Show all of them what happens when they touch our Queen!” Roman growled, enraged.
I turned to face everyone that had heard the commotion and came to see what was happening.
They all fell to their knees and whimpered, my Alpha aura dark and murderous, but I had to make sure Alari was alright first.
“Get me a doctor!” I growled, my voice dualed with Romans and I saw them shiver and cry.
I had climbed a few stairs when I turned, “and lock him, I'll deal with him later!” I said and made my way to my room.
I placed her on the bed gently, stroking her face until I reached the bloody spot on her neck.
I quickly went to get a towel because she was still bleeding, but I knew he hadn't sunk his teeth deep enough to replace my mark.
Was that even possible?!
A knock brought me out of my thoughts and I went to open the door. A man who looked to be in his early fifties stood there, with a woman beside him trying to peak into the room.
“Your highness, I'm a healer and her father, this is my wife, her mother” he said, also trying to look past me into the room.
I sighed in relief and eased my aura up a little, moving aside to let him get inside.
“Make sure she's okay, the wound on her neck is still bleeding” I said, watching as they quickly approached the bed.
“Who did this to her?!” Her mother asked in anger as she looked at her daughter.
“Xavier” I said and both of them turned to look at me shocked. Did they know about his rejection? Looked like they did.
The woman burst into uncontrollable giggles but they quickly turned dark and the air around the room electrified.
“Beth, calm down” the man said but she just looked at him, shaking her head and turned her gaze to my mate.
“When will it be enough? Have they not tormented her enough?!” She yelled and I swear I heard thunder clap somewhere in the distance.
Alari had said her parents were witches, a healer and a seer, but I think her mother was more than that.
There was once a coven of peaceful witches, seers who could manipulate the elements of nature. They were killed off when they refused to join the fight against our kind, she must be one of the few survivors of that massacre.
“Let's focus on her first” her husband said with a sigh as he went through his bag.
He gently removed the towel and frowned at the still bleeding bite mark, looking up at me with angry but cautious eyes.
“I need to stop the bleeding so I can see how deep this is” he said, dabbing a clear liquid on a piece of cloth and running it over the mark.
Alari winced and moved away a little and I tried to go to her but her mother stopped me, making me growl at her.
“Let him work, he'll never hurt her” she said, still as angry and I sighed, fighting to hold myself back.
“Settle down now princess, it'll be over soon” her father said as he took away the cloth.
“Pearl said she'd found her second mate, and I'm guessing it's you” she said, probably trying to take my mind off of what her husband was doing.
“Yes” I answered and she nodded, sighing as she kept her gaze on Alari.
“Judging from the mark on her neck, I'm guessing you know some things about her now, am I right?” She asked and I shifted my gaze to her, only for a moment.
“I think I know who she is” I said, watching her breathe deeply from the corner of my eye.
“Did you tell her?” She asked, now holding her breathe.
“No, we were planning to have a talk with you both first” I said and she nodded, sighing in what I could think was relief.
“Good” she said, sitting on the bed beside Alari.
“It's not deep, it should heal in about an hour” the healer said, rubbing some herby oil over the mark.
He then moved his hands over the rest of her body, probably checking if she was injured anywhere else.
“She's fine, she just needs to rest up” he said, packing everything he'd used back into his bag.
“Good, now I can go teach that rotten Alpha and his bitch mother a lesson” Alari's mother said getting off the bed and making her way to the door.
“He's mine!” I growled, making her stop to look at me.
“Well? What are you waiting for? Let's go! Valerian will watch her plus your beta and warriors are guarding the hallway, she'll be alright until we return” she said, turning back to walk out the door.
“Bethany!” Her husband shouted but didn't move from the bed as he watched his wife leaving.
“You can't stop me Valerian, not this time” she said as the energy around her darkened, I remember reading something about a seer's temper and I knew the shit storm that was about to hit this pack and I was all for it.
“I like her” Roman said pushing me to follow the angry like woman.
“Yeah, I like her too” I said to him, looking at my mate then her father before following.
“Don't let her kill anyone, please, and that goes for you as well, I don't think Alari would like that” her father said as I reached the door, making me pause for a moment before continuing.
The Alpha and Luna were on the floor bellow us, Lucien standing firm and not allowing them up.
“Your highness! What is the meaning of this?!” Alpha Thomas bellowed but shrunk back as I raised a brow at him, looks like this entire pack is incapable of respect.
“Where's Xavier?” Bethany asked stepping up to them. I saw them shrink at her gaze, not wanting to cross the already fuming witch.
“Bethany please, whatever he did, I'm sure we can work something out” the Luna pleaded, her voice low and trembling.
Bethany raised her hand and I saw the Luna struggling to breathe.
“What the hell are you doing?!” Thomas shouted as he tried to get to her but he froze mid step when she turned to look at him.
“Answer the question and I won't kill her now” she said, a sinister smirk in her face.
The Luna fell to her knees, turning blue from the lack of oxygen.
“Passed out in the game room” Thomas said and a loud gasp resonated through the walls as the Luna took a deep breathe.
“Wasn't so hard now was it” Bethany said, rolling her eyes.
“You're a dangerous woman” I said as she led me to where that whimp was.
“I know” she said, not even looking back at me.
She took a right when we got to the first floor and I already knew where we were going from the people gathered around.
They didn't need to be told, the parted for us like the red sea and Bethany flicked her hand, throwing the doors open.
The new Luna, who'd been kneeling next to her Alpha, shot up, wiping her tears and bowed, “your majesty” she said, showing her submission.
“You don't want to see this” I said, sympathizing with her but she shook her head.
“I have to stay” she said, breathing deeply.
Bethany said nothing to her, fisting her hands, she said something under her breathe and Xavier started wrenching and vomiting.
“Okay, she's scary” Roman said as we watched Xavier heave and struggle to breathe as he kept on vomiting.
“Yes, it's as painful as it looks” she said, looking at the new Luna, who'd jumped back to avoid vomit on her dress.
She released him when he stopped and he slumped onto the floor, groaning and coughing.
“And here I thought my fists were going to hurt” I said, now slightly afraid of her.
“I haven't even started! That was just waking him up” she said, laughing as she approached him, looking down at him with disgust.
“I should make you eat it!” She growled, her rage only getting stronger.
“Wh… what are y.. you doing” Xavier groaned as he tried to stand but he fell back down with a loud cry.
A crack echoed throughout the room and I winced, the new Luna looking away. She definitely broke a bone.
Another crack and his hand bent in an unnatural way, making him scream his lungs out.
“Aaaah stop this, stop this now!” He cried and she responded by breaking another bone.
She broke two more then started choking him, giving him air just as he was about to pass out.
She even went as far as cutting at his skin with literal air! How did she even do that?
She only stopped when he couldn't cry and beg anymore, “he's all yours” she said, leaving me with the new Luna and a bleeding Xavier.
“I don't think there's anything worse we can do” Roman said, now calm and satisfied.
