"Scarlett, drop the charges, and we're done. I don't want my friend to suffer because of a piece of trash."
"Let's handle this formally. Your friend hit me. I reported it. What's wrong with that?"
I wasn't in the mood for games.
"Remember my Bluetooth earbud? It was on the whole time. I have a recording of everything. Do you want to hear it? Also, everything that happened when we burst in is on video. You don't want that ruining your 'career', do you?"
A streamer who relied on tips from viewers and 'offline meetings'… if it got out she was like this, her value would plummet.
Scarlett froze. After a moment, she said, "You're bluffing. Recording like that is illegal! Distributing it is illegal! You could go to jail!"
She tried to sound tough, but the fear was there.
"You can test me. My friend is facing jail time for me. Do you think I'll let you off?"
I stared her down.
She seemed to shrivel under my gaze.
"You have to promise to destroy the recordings."
We reached a deal quickly.
Even though the jerk was punished, fighting with trash leaves you covered in filth, win or lose.
The only thing to do is stay far, far away from the trash.
