CHAPTER 65 - PERFECT DINNER DATE
As I thought about Luke going back to his pack in Lancaster, I felt really sad. I knew we wouldn't be able to see each other as much once he left. I didn't want to lose him, so I decided we should make the most of our time together.
The next day, I asked Luke to spend the day exploring the woods with me. He loved the idea, and we went on a long walk together, holding hands and talking. The forest was beautiful, and being with Luke made it even better.

But even as we had fun, I couldn't shake off the feeling that our time together was running out. I tried not to think about it too much and just focused on enjoying the moment.
As the sun started to set, we found a quiet spot to sit and watch the sky turn colors. Sitting there with Luke, I realized how much he meant to me. He wasn't just an ex-boyfriend anymore – he was someone I really cared about.
I promised myself that I would cherish every moment we had together, even if it was just for a little while. Even though we wouldn't be able to see each other as often, I knew the memories we made would stay with me forever.
However, the more time I spent with Luke, the more I realized how much I would miss him when he left. We laughed together, shared stories, and enjoyed each other's company. Every moment felt precious, and I wanted to make the most of it. After our walk in the woods, I suggested we have a picnic by the lake.
“Where should we set up our picnic blanket?" he asked after he agreed.
"How about that spot over there, near the shade of the big oak tree? It looks so inviting,”I pointed to the perfect location where we could spread the blanket for a picnic.

"Sounds perfect to me. Let's grab the blanket and the basket of goodies,” he said, and as I looked at him, he seemed to be so fine.
"Fortunately, I've prepared some sandwiches, fresh fruit, and a delicious homemade lemonade. It's going to be a feast!" I exclaimed excitedly.
I knew I was being ahead of myself but I have decided to make the best out of it before getting married. Then, I shook my head to dismiss the thought about my future husband, and when I glanced at my companion, he was confused why I had to react that way.
"Thank you, Luke. I put a lot of love into preparing this picnic for us. It's going to be a special time together,” I said out of nowhere and he furrowed his brows in confusion. Why did I say those words?

"You know what, I appreciate all the effort you put into this, Isabella. I'm grateful to have you in my life, but you didn’t have to overwork yourself just to make me happy,” he told me.
“So, this makes you happy?” I asked while referring to the picnic set as well as the goodies, but he shook his head in response.
“Not the food, my dear. Your presence is enough to make me happy,” he corrected, and somehow, I liked the way he rephrased it.
“I am going to miss you,” I blurted and he frowned.
“Me, too. By the way, thank you for taking care of me,” I said and he just smiled.
"You always think of everything, Isabella. That's one of the many things I love about you. Besides, I should be the one to thank you for staying by my side these past few days. Your fiance will not like it that you are being sweet to me right now,” he said.
“Do I care?” I asked him but before running our mood, I spread out the blanket under the shade of the oak tree.
As we settled down, we began to chat, laugh, and enjoy the delicious food I had prepared. The sounds of birds chirping and the gentle breeze added to the serene atmosphere.
"Luke, look at that beautiful butterfly over there! It's fluttering around the flowers!” I exclaimed with happiness as I watched the beautiful butterfly.
"It's stunning, my love. But you are more beautiful than the butterfly,” he mentioned, and I rolled my eyes before him as a response.
“I have something to propose to you, I hope you will listen carefully,” I stated and then he narrowed his eyes at me.
“About what?”
“About us, Luke. I mean, I don’t know what is going to happen in the future, but right now, I don’t think I will be able to send you to Lancaster and never see you again,” I confessed.
“Why can’t we see each other once I am in Lancaster?”
“Because you are going to be busy by then. As a new Alpha, you have to stabilize the pack first, and there’s an issue with the other woman who is going to be your Luna. The council would ask you to do it,” I informed him because he seemed clueless.
“So, as the Alpha, I don’t have power to do everything I want?”
“You need to prioritize the pack before anything else,” I replied and for a moment, he looked as if he regretted his decision of claiming back the pack. “So, can you listen to my proposal now?”
“Sure, go ahead.”
“I want us to have fun while being together. I mean, I want to do things that couples must do. I want to do those things with you, Luke,” I told him, and he smirked.
“You know what, Isabella? You don’t have to worry about anything else in the world, just let me know that you still love me, and you want to be with me, then I will do everything to keep you at my side.”
“As a mistress?” I inquired and he was too stunned to reply.
