PRINCESS HELLEN'S POV
"You know that I would do anything for you and your brothers, right?" I ask king kian my fingers caressing the chiseled muscles of his chest and abdomen. He has this glorious smooth skin that almost appears to reflect light.
"Love?" I press when he hesitates to answer, he is looking away into the woods that surround the small clearing we are in. He brought me out here for a fun outing, now that they can freely go out into the daylight without getting hurt or needing any healing after.

"Yes, you did everything in your power to break the curse," he finally acknowledges, turning his gaze back to me with a look of genuine admiration.
"You're indeed the woman we needed to feel cherished and happy."
His words lull my heart, making me want to hug and kiss him more. Out of the three brothers, he seems to like me the most and also care the least about their human mate.
Last night, after handling the situation with their mate, I stayed in King Aleric's bed. He was affectionate and sweet but despite my efforts to better the intimacy he wouldn't let anything beyond cuddling and kissing happen between us. Not even when I took off my dress and slipped under the covers and carried on to press myself against him while my hands explored the skin under his shirt. His resolve didn't crumble.
During breakfast, I informed them that their mate had run away during the night while everyone was asleep. At first, they were surprised that she would risk to leave at night knowing she doesn't have a wolf. But their mood shifted to uncaring after king Aleric mentioned that they had offered her a chance to be granted any wish she wanted, and she didn't take it.
I wonder if it will still upset them to learn that she is actually dead.

"Are you still concerned about your human mate?" I ask, and Kian raises an eyebrow.
"Why would I be?" he responds. "She chose to leave on her own, no one forced her to go."
"What if something bad happened to her?" I inquire, and he looks at me with a puzzled expression. "What if she was attacked while trying to escape and got injured or even died?" I question.
He hesitates to reply, and I start to feel anxious.

"Even though we didn't care for our human mate, she was kind, and I'm certain none of my brothers would want harm to come to her," he admits.
I breathe a sigh of relief, thankful that I forced the human into accepting their rejection. Otherwise, they would be suffering the pain of losing her right now.
Leaning down, I give his chest a quick peck. I look up at his stunning face and see that a smile has curved on his luscious lips. His hand comes up again and strokes my cheek.
"I think it's time we head back," he suddenly announces, getting up and start to button his shirt.
My servants, who have been sitting a distance away, rise up and make their way to us to collect the fine mats we were lying on.
"Wouldn't you rather spend more time with me?" I playfully tease and Kian's grin widen. He takes hold of my arm and pulls me close to him. I happily comply. To my delight, he leans and presses his soft lips against mine in a tender kiss. A wave of pleasure runs through my whole body.
Regrettably, it all ends too soon as kian's focus shift as he fixes his gaze on Julia, who is assisting Asher with folding and packing.
"What happened to your... servant's face?" Kian inquires with genuine curiosity.
Julia got the large, ugly mark on her face from hitting her head on the war when Ella kicked her. We had thought that the wound would have healed by today since she has a wolf, but instead it transformed into a deep, ugly scar that didn't vanish even when she attempted to shift. Of course, I have no intention of telling all that to Kian.
"Never mind, she fell and... hit her head," I inform him, and he nods before heading towards our horse.
"Cover up that unsightly thing, I don't want to be asked any more questions," I instruct Julia before following after Kian.
ELLA'S POV
"She's awake! The human us awake!" A woman's voice shrieks as soon as I crack my eyes open. Only the right one opens while a sharp pain grips the left one. I groan and realize my throat hurts too.
"Quick, get the Doctor!" a commanding male voice barks and I hear footsteps as someone rushes out of the room.

With my one eye open, I see figures rushing to me. They are of a woman and a man. The two loom over me, their blully faces etched with concern.
I blink several times before images become clear. But even before my vision clears, I can tell that I'm not laying on that hard ground in the woods. The material beneath me is soft. Like a soft pillow maybe.
"Just try to stay still," the woman urges gently, her hand soothingly rubbing my aching arm, causing me to wince in pain.
"What have you done? The doctor said her hand is broken!" the man's voice snaps with frustration.
"I... I'm sorry, I forgot," the woman stammers apologetically.
My eyes inspect the opulent room in confusion.
"Where...a...am I?" I manage to ignore the pain shooting from my throat and ask.
A gentle smile graces the woman's face as she places a soft pillow beneath my head. "You are in the Bloodmoon Palace. You were unconscious when he brought you here. Call me June."
Bloodmoon Palace! I am in Alpha Ethan's kingdom, within the walls of his majestic palace, and they are taking care of me?! What for?
"Who brought me here?" I inquire, my mind struggling to piece together the events that had led me to this moment. The last thing I remember is seeing a gigantic man before I lost my consciousness.
"Alpha Ethan," June replies.
An Alpha saved a dying wolfless girl and brought her to be treated in his palace! Wow! A lot seems to have changed while I was unconscious. Is the sun still rising in the East and setting in the West?"
"I don't understand. Why did he help me?" I ask but just then, a middle aged man enters the room.
"She's awake. But she seems to be in pain, you should examine her," June informs the man, gesturing towards me.
"This is Curbert, the King's personal physician. He has been treating you," June explains, stepping back to give him space.

Curbert steps forward. He bends so he is closer to me. "How are you feeling?" He inquires in a gentle voice placing his palm on my forehead.
"Why are you treating me? " I question. "The alpha's personal physician doesn't attend to just anyone," Expecially not lowly humans.
Curbert meets my gaze, his expression unreadable. "I am following my masters orders. You are making a good progress, and soon you will be well enough to meet with him. I will provide you with pain relief." He says, rises again and leaves the room.
I will meet with Alpha Ethan? Who do they think I am?
